The National Center for Environmental Research and Quality Assurance, Office of Research and Development, EPA is providing grants under the Environmental Monitoring for Public Access and community Tracking Grants Program, with a closing date of April 8, 1999. EPA, with the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Agriculture as partners, also requests Water and Watershed research proposals for grants in the $100,000 to $300,000 per year range. In Fiscal Years 1999 and 2000 the National Sea Grant College Program expects to make available about $2,300,000 per year to support projects to prevent and/or control non-indigenous species invasions in US waters, as well as about $940,000 for demonstration projects on ballast water treatment in the Chesapeake Bay and Great Lakes.
